Acupuncture From Past to Present

Bryon began his understanding of the body as a locally and nationally recognized wrestler in Virginia. (Great Bridge High School, coached by the famous “Martins”) He developed a wrestling style which earned him the televised nickname, “the technician.” Experiencing physical injury, incorrect weight-loss, and mental/emotional anguish through early times has brought much wisdom and understanding of the body to his current practice.

He continued to Virginia Tech and received degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He was the alternative speaker for the National Biological Honor Society of Virginia Tech and was individually selected to take a Doctorate/Master’s level biology (course-work) as an undergraduate sophomore.

Cupping Techniques at Virgnia Beach AcupunctureFollowing his interest and intrigue in alternative medicine, he attended The Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego, California. This 4 ½ year program gained him the title: Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine. While in San Diego, off campus, at East West Acupuncture, Inc., Bryon treated thousands of cases of post-surgery pain/complications as the clinic was under referral from local orthopedic surgeons. These cases were treated solely with traditional acupuncture.

With a potent effect on orthopedic disorders, he has attracted a clientele of many professional athletes, including marathon runners, competitive swimmers, martial artists, baseball players, golfers, etc.

After becoming a Master of Chinese Medicine, Bryon worked in a Chinese Hospital in mainland China and had the opportunity to use acupuncture and herbal medicine to approach advanced cases of diabetes, pain, weight management, gynecology, stroke rehabilitation/ nervous system disorders, and pediatric disorders, to name a few, in a fully modernized integrated hospital setting.

Bryon’s mission has always been to return to Virginia to enrich the health of his community, family, and friends. Opening his clinic, Virginia Beach Acupuncture, has enabled him to do this.
